The championship brought together at least 700 players selected from provincial Taekwon-do teams and other units. They will compete in Taekwon-do and go games.

Present at the opening ceremony were Ri Il Hwan, department director of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, Taekwon-do players and coaches and school youth and children.

Kim Kyong Ho, chairman of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee, made an opening speech.
