S. Korean Authorities Accused of Aborting Events for Reunification

Pyongyang, June 8 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the south Korean puppet Ministry of Unification recently said it was "very inappropriate for the north to shift the responsibility for aborting the events and the south expected successful promotion of the events." He went the lengths of making desperate efforts to pass the buck for scuttling the events to the north, grumbling about "the north's shunning the south's proposal for contacts and the north's refusal to hold the joint events."

Rodong Sinmun Monday in a commentary says:

The south Korean authorities are known to be old hands at telling lies and hatching plots but it is disgusting, indeed, for them to behave so shamelessly as to feign ignorance of what is very clear to the world.

The DPRK made important proposals for opening up a wide avenue to independent reunification in the beginning of the year and has made unsparing efforts to realize them, the commentary says, revealing the fact that the south Korean puppet authorities have made open obstructions to bar the June 15 joint national events from taking place.

No matter what wordplay the south Korean authorities stage, they can never evade the responsibility for having chilled the aspiration and enthusiasm of the nation for reunification and aborted the joint events.

The present north-south relations, which are being pushed to ever more serious catastrophe after a good opportunity arranged with much effort for the June 15 joint national events was scuppered, once again clearly prove that distrust and confrontation between the north and the south will fester and they will lead to a war in the end if the south Korean authorities deny the June 15 joint declaration and take an ill-intended approach towards it.
