Important Day of DPRK Observed in Guinea
Pyongyang, June 4 (KCNA) -- A lecture on the theme of "Torch kindled in Pochonbo" took place at Guinean Art College on May 25 under the sponsorship of the Guinean Society for the Study of the Juche Literary Idea on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the victorious Battle of Pochonbo in Korea.

Present there were personages of the Society and the College and masses.

Abdoulaye Diallo, chairman of the Guinean Society for the Study of the Juche Literary Idea, said June 4 is a significant day in the history of the Songun revolution of the Korean people.

Citing in detail the fact that President Kim Il Sung organized the Pochonbo battle and led it to victory to inject new life and vitality into the Koreans in the days when the Japanese imperialists' rule over Korea was getting harsher, and the significance of the battle, the chairman continued:

The Korean people, following the President as the leader of the nation and savior of national resuscitation, were convinced of the day when he would surely bring about Korea's liberation.

The Korean people finally greeted the day of liberation on August 15, 1945.
