S. Korean Organizations Call for Opening up Chapter of Great National Unity
Pyongyang, June 3 (KCNA) -- Ri Kyong Won, former secretary general of the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification (Pomminryon), was released on May 30. He had been behind bars for several years owing to the puppet authorities' crackdown.

Representatives of civic and public organizations in different parts of south Korea including the South Headquarters of Pomminryon, the Reunification Meeting, the Solidarity for Progress and the Association for Supporting Prisoners of Conscience of the Family Movement for Realizing Democracy held a meeting to welcome him outside the Andong Prison on the day.

Speakers said that the South Headquarters of Pomminryon has fulfilled its role and responsibility and will achieve great results in the efforts to achieve independent reunification in the future.

They called for opening up the chapter for great national unity by more positively turning out in the movement for national reunification.

They called for making concerted efforts to make this year, 70 years since the division of the country, a year of great turning point in the movement for independence and reunification, so as to achieve reunification without fail.
