Friendship Gathering Marks Anniversary of Kim Jong Un's Visit to Pyongyang Orphanage
Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- A friendship gathering took place at Pyongyang Orphanage Monday to mark the first anniversary of supreme leader Kim Jong Un's visit to the orphanage to congratulate orphans on the International Children's Day and the 65th anniversary of the day.

Present there were Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, officials concerned, orphans, nurses and employees of Pyongyang Baby Home and Orphanage, orphans who are studying at Pyongyang Mirim School after graduating from the orphanage and exemplary nurses, teachers, members of the women's union and children in Pyongyang.

Present there on invitation were staff members of diplomatic missions and international bodies here, foreign guests, overseas Koreans and the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front.

Kim Jong Sun, chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Democratic Women's Union of Korea, warmly congratulated the Korean and foreign children on the International Children's Day.

She expressed belief that children would grow up to be loyalists trusting and following Kim Jong Un only and pillars of prosperous Korea who are knowledgeable, moral and healthy.

Brass band of Kumsong Secondary School No. 1 and artistes of the Pyongyang Puppet Company gave performances to congratulate children on the International Children's Day.

A joint performance was given by orphans and teachers of Pyongyang Orphanage and children of different countries.

Then followed sports and amusement games.

At the end of the games, participants spent a pleasant time, dancing with the orphans.

Colorful events took place in all provinces, cities (districts) and counties on the day.
