Discrimination against Korean Schools and Distortion of History by Japan Accused
Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) ? The Citizens Council for Defending Schools and Children in south Korea launched a Friday action in Seoul on May 29 in demand of the abolition of the Japanese government's policy of discrimination against the Korean schools in Japan and a halt to its distortion of history.

Speakers said the Japanese government still keeps the Korean schools in Japan off the list for the application for the tuition-free program for senior high schools, and that local self-governing bodies have suspended the provision of subsidies.

They accused the government of getting hell-bent on the distortion of history and moves for seizing the land, while denying the historical fact that Tok Islets are the part of the inviolable territory of Korea and holding an event called "Takeshima (Tok Islets) Day".

They denounced Japan's discrimination against the Korean schools in Japan as an act of violating the international convention on ensuring the right of children by which all children are granted the right to education without any discrimination.
