Paek Chang Uk, a section chief of the branch academy, told KCNA that the academy has achieved successes in prospecting and developing tidal power resources.

Upon the analysis of world trend of tidal energy development, it finished prospecting resources in the country and selected some areas favorable for building tidal power stations.

It has also compiled technical indices for new methods of constructing power stations in close cooperation with relevant units.

Meanwhile, it succeeded in developing software for rational operation of tidal power stations.
