The Kwangju Popular Uprising was the heroic resistance of south Korean people for achieving independence, democracy and reunification against the military fascist dictatorship and the U.S. colonial rule, the article said, and went on:

The Park Geun Hye group makes all the fields including politics, economy and culture further dependent on the U.S. and makes a mess of initial successes for democracy made by the people, reviving the past "yusin" fascist dictatorship system.

The dark reality in south Korea is little short of the situation at the time of the Kwangju Popular Uprising.

It would be possible for the south Korean people to frustrate the U.S. colonial domination and traitorous misrule by the Park Geun Hey group and realize the aspirations for independence, democracy and reunification only when they inherit the soul of the Kwangju demonstrators and turn out in the massive resistance against the regime.
