South Koreans' Struggle Backed by British Organizations
Pyongyang, May 25 (KCNA) -- The British Association for the Study of Songun Policy, the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and the Korean Friendship Association UK released a joint statement on May 15 to mark the 35th anniversary of the Kwangju Popular Uprising.

The statement said:

The Kwangju Popular Uprising left a new chapter in the history of struggle of the south Korean people for independence, democracy and national reunification.

The demonstrators fought bravely against the barbarous suppression by the south Korean puppet group instigated by the U.S. imperialists.

The uprising clearly proved the truth that freedom and social change never come of themselves and the counterrevolutionary violence must be shattered with revolutionary one.

Many years have passed since the uprising, but south Korea is still under dark fascist dictatorship.

Independence and democracy have not yet been materialized in south Korea.

Another Kwangju Popular Uprising is needed to topple down the Park Geun Hye regime.

We send full support and solidarity to the south Korean people's struggle to bring down the Park Geun Hye regime and drive the U.S. imperialists, sworn enemy of the Korean nation, out of south Korea.
