U.S. Urged Not to Fool World with Deceptive Farce
Pyongyang, May 24 (KCNA) -- U.S. Secretary of State Kerry in the recent review conference of the parties to the NPT said the U.S. has 4 017 nuclear warheads, 87 less than that in September 2013 and 500 less than that in January 2009 when the Obama Administration took office. He unveiled the plan to dismantle 2 500 nuclear warheads by 2022, saying this number includes those that had already been dismantled until 2014 and those under dismantlement now.

Minju Joson Sunday observes in a commentary in this regard:

World public and experts comment that the U.S. opening of the documents related to its nuclear activities is nothing but a diplomatic gesture aimed to give impression that it is abiding by its duty under the NPT. They expressed skepticism about the credibility of the materials presented by the U.S.

It is beyond the U.S. capacity to maintain and manage nuclear warheads that had been overproduced and stockpiled during the Cold War period for nuclear arms race with the Soviet Union.

The crafty U.S. found a way-out in improving quality, not in quantity increase and started reexamining its nuclear strategy.

The U.S. has already rounded off the production plan for a variety of updated and highly sophisticated warheads to be mounted on nuclear weapons or has begun their production.

It is the arch criminal of worldwide nuclear proliferation and arms race as it is pushing forward the modernization of nukes, bringing about nuclear nightmare to the world and enforcing massive exports of weapons by intentionally aggravating the international situation.

As the international community unanimously demands, the U.S. must stop such a mean behavior as fooling the world with deceptive talk about "world without nuclear weapons" and "peace."
