S. Koreans Call for Successful Joint National Event

Pyongyang, May 23 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Taejon preparatory committee for the joint national event to mark the 15th anniversary of the publication of the June 15 joint declaration held a press conference in Taejon on May 19.

Speakers said that all people should pool their efforts to successfully hold the joint national event in Seoul in order to achieve peace and national reunification in the spirit of the June 15 joint declaration.

They said that the "government" should take practical actions for reunification and, to this end, lift the "May 24 step".

They underscored the need to bring about a comprehensive turn in cooperation and exchange and the improvement of the relations between the south and the north.
