S. Korean Newspaper Accuses Regime of Moving to Stamp out Spirit of Kwangju Popular Uprising
Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- Kyunghyang Daily News of south Korea carried an editorial on May 17 denouncing the puppet regime for working hard to stamp out the spirit of the Kwangju Popular Uprising.

The editorial deplored the on-going situation where false information is being spread to falsify the truth about the May 18 movement for democracy.

It blamed the Patriots and Veterans Affairs Agency for putting a ban on singing the song "March for Dear Ones" symbolic of the May 18 movement for democracy under the unreasonable pretext that the song "disturbs the unity of people" and for not having it as a memorial song for the May 18 movement in disregard of the resolution of the "National Assembly."

What Park Geun Hye seeks is to write off the history of the May 18 movement by branding the song as the "song of those following the north," it noted.

It urged Park not to insult the history of the movement.
