The statement denounced the Japanese authorities' illegal criminal acts against the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), an overseas compatriots' organization, and Koreans in Japan as a serious provocation against the DPRK and an unpardonable challenge to the sovereignty and dignity of the Korean nation.

Their repeated anti-DPRK and anti-Chongryon racket has sparked off resentment of all Koreans, it said, adding:
