Production of Steel Wire Flexible Shaft Localized in DPRK

Pyongyang, May 13 (KCNA) -- The Coal-mining Engineering Institute of the Coal Science Branch under the State Academy of Sciences in the DPRK recently succeeded in localizing steel wire flexible shaft.

The institute invented a new type of flexible shaft coiling machine and established a technology of producing steel wire flexible shaft with locally available raw materials.

The introduction of this steel wire flexible shaft is conducive to improving the level of mechanization in coal mining and raising the speed of tunneling.
