Rodong Sinmun Lays Bare Aim Sought by U.S. in Revised "U.S.-Japan Defense Cooperation Guidelines"
Pyongyang, May 13 (KCNA) -- The U.S. is claiming that the revision of the "U.S.-Japan defense cooperation guidelines" is aimed at coping with someone's "provocations and threat" and ensuring "peace" in the Asia-Pacific region. This is, however, hypocrisy.

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says this in a commentary.

It goes on:

The aim sought by the U.S. is to use the Japan "Self-Defense Forces" as a shock brigade in its operations to encircle and contain China and Russia, its rivals in Eurasia, by force of arms and realize its scenario for dominating the world.

It is the invariable ambition of the U.S. to dominate the world. To this end, the U.S. put forward the pivot to Asia-Pacific strategy.

China and Russia are increasing their influence on Northeast Asia with great military and economic potentials.

But the U.S. is getting weak. It is practically impossible for the U.S. to carry out its scenario for dominating the world under the present situation.

The U.S. is trying to offset such weakness by tightening the military alliance with its allied forces. It is attaching particular importance to the military alliance with Japan.

The military muscle of Japan is so strong that it can match other western powers.

Precisely for this reason the U.S. is working hard to retain its firmer grip on Japan through tightened military alliance, while encouraging the latter to revive militarism.

The ulterior design of the U.S. is to use the Japanese reactionaries as a shock brigade in the operations to contain China and Russia by taking advantage of their militarist hysteria.

By revising the above-said guidelines the U.S. can hurl the SDF into its military operations anywhere in the world.
