Birthday of KPA Observed Abroad
Pyongyang, May 2 (KCNA) -- Papers of Zimbabwe and Namibia carried articles to mark the 83rd founding anniversary of the Korean People's Army (KPA).

The Zimbabwean paper Herald on Apr. 24 carried an article titled "Exploits performed for peace" illustrated with portraits of smiling President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.

Noting the KPA has covered a proud path of victory and glory along with the Songun revolution for over 80 years, the article said that under the guidance of the President it won the two revolutionary wars and foiled every provocation of the U.S. in the post-war period, too.

Kim Jong Il, chairman of the National Defence Commission, held higher the banner of Songun in the worst adversity when the imperialist allied forces' political and military offensive was focused on the DPRK with the collapse of socialism in East European countries as a momentum at the end of the last century, it said, adding:

It was none other than Kim Jong Il who protected global peace and security from the imperialists' aggression, high-handed and arbitrary practices with his original Songun politics.

The great exploits performed by him for the world peace will always be remembered by humankind and the KPA's history of victory will be given steady continuity for all ages.

The Namibian paper New Era on Apr. 23 carried an article titled "80 odd years along with Songun revolution."
