S. Korean Bodies Blast U.S.-Japan Military Tie-up

| Pyongyang, April 30 (KCNA) -- The Association for Supporting Prisoners of Conscience of the Family Movement for Realizing Democracy, the Society of April Revolution, the Solidarity for Progress, the Confederation of Trade Unions, the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification and other civic and social bodies of south Korea on April 27 held a joint press conference in front of the Japanese embassy in Seoul in denunciation of the U.S.-Japan military tie-up. The organizations in a press release lashed out at the U.S. and Japan for finally confirming the revision of the "U.S.-Japanese Defense Cooperation Guidelines" at the foreign minister and defense minister talks that day. The bodies demanded the U.S. and Japan stop at once their attempt to put Northeast Asia under their military control. |
