Japanese Authorities Censured for Suppressing Chongryon
Pyongyang, April 29 (KCNA) -- A German body and a Venezuelan public figure protested against the Japanese authorities' crackdown upon the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon).

The Anti-Imperialist Forum of Germany noted in a statement on Apr. 20:

The Japanese police authorities searched the houses of the chairman and a vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee without any legal ground.

The DPRK and Japan at their governmental talks held in Stockholm in May, 2014 agreed to redeem the inglorious past and settle pending issues, according to the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration. The above-said violence perpetrated in the wake of the conclusion of the agreement casts doubt on the Japanese government as it is little short of unilaterally scrapping the agreement.

The Venezuela-Korea Friendship Society contributed an article to the newspaper El Diario de Lara on Apr. 14, which said:

Now the Korean people are hardly repressing their anger at the Japanese police authorities' fascist violence and outrageous human rights abuses.

We appeal to the peace-loving people calling for justice and progress in the world to denounce the Japanese reactionaries' moves against the DPRK and Chongryon and extend unsparing support and solidarity to the Korean people.
