S. Korean Body Demands Japan Stop Discrimination and Suppression of Koreans in Japan
Pyongyang, April 28 (KCNA) -- The Citizens Meeting for Protecting Our Class and Children held a press conference outside the Japanese embassy in Seoul on April 24 to declare a week of human rights of Koreans in Japan at which it declared it would fight against the Japanese government's discrimination against Korean schools, according to Thongil News, an internet paper of south Korea.

Speakers said that all Korean schools in Japan are still excluded from the application of tuition-free program for senior high schools.

They noted they would not allow the Japanese government to undisguisedly pursue the policy of national discrimination, far from liquidating the past crimes.

They demanded Japan stop at once discrimination and suppression of Koreans in Japan.

In a press release they said that they declared a week of human rights of Koreans in Japan in token of solidarity with compatriots defending the national education on the occasion of the day of the April 24 education action in which Koreans in Japan fought against the moves of the Japanese authorities to obliterate national education in order to defend Korean language.

An action plan till May 1 was made public at the end of the conference.
