The statement said:

This year marks the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation the Korean people achieved by defeating Japan through a heroic resistance war.

The world has advanced far and the times have undergone a dramatic change but the Korean people have not yet achieved the country's reunification.

The pain resulting from national division is getting bitterer.

The Asia-Pacific Regional Committee for Supporting Peaceful Reunification of Korea set the "solidarity period for supporting the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea" from June to October this year and made an appeal to progressive mankind for further intensifying the international solidarity movement for supporting the Korean people's cause.

The Korean people will certainly achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country under the wise leadership of HE Kim Jong Un and other progressive peoples in the world will extend support and solidarity to the reunification cause of the Korean people.
