The editorial accused Japanese Prime Minister Abe of making reckless remarks evading Japan's responsibility for its history of aggression that day.

After taking his office Abe is attempting to distort history on the international arena, it said, adding such petty trick to cover the sky with his palms is intolerable.

During his appearance at a domestic broadcasting service of Japan on April 20, Abe negated the issue of using such words as aggression, apology, etc. in the prime minister's statement to be made on the occasion of 70 years since Japans' defeat, the editorial noted.

There will be no future for Japan if it fails to properly settle its past, it said.
