Japan Urged to Make Apology and Reparation for Its Past Crimes
Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification in south Korea held the 1175th Wednesday rally on April 22 to force Japan to settle the issue of sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army.

Speakers accused Japanese prime minister Abe of shamelessly shunning reflection and apology for Japan's past war crimes and evading the blame for them as evidenced by his remarks painting the victims of the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army as "ones of flesh traffic" and his ritual offering to Yasukuni Shrine.

The U.S. is telling people to forget the disgraceful history, unilaterally siding with Japan's militarization and lurch to the Right and working hard to hold its military hegemony in Northeast Asia, they charged.

Japan's moves for militarization including the exercise of the "right to collective self-defense" are doing harm to peace in Northeast Asia and other parts of the world, they noted.

They declared they would carry on their actions for peace and reunification on the Korean peninsula and peace and security in Northeast Asia.

They demanded the Japanese government stop distorting history and make an official apology and legal reparation for the past war crimes including the crimes related to sexual slavery.
