During the contest, national-level healthcare institutions including the Pyongyang Medical College Hospital of Kim Il Sung University and the Korea General Red Cross Hospital and different units in Pyongyang and various provinces will compete in various events including basketball, volleyball and table-tennis at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium and the Sports Village in Chongchun Street.

Present at the ceremony were Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, Vice-Premier Kim Yong Jin, officials concerned, officials and other working people and players in the field of public health.

Minister of Public Health Kang Ha Guk made an opening address.

At the end of the ceremony, there took place men and women's volleyball games.
