Scientific Agro-forestry Management in DPRK

Pyongyang, April 18 (KCNA) -- The Academy of Forestry in the DPRK has directed efforts to putting the agro-forestry management on a scientific basis to turn the country into a thick woodland and greenery at an earliest date and raise the utilization rate of forest land.

The academy succeeded in putting the creation of mixed forest on a scientific basis.

It also developed a new method of selecting sites appropriate for agro-forestry management on the basis of satellite image data and geographical information system technology and worked out a nationwide distribution chart of sites.

And it set up a database for the sites and completed an e-map for agro-forestry management.
