People's Art Festival Closes
Pyongyang, April 17 (KCNA) -- The Fourth April Spring People's Art Festival closed with due ceremony at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre on Friday. It opened here on the occasion of the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

The festival praised the immortal revolutionary history and feats of the peerlessly great persons and powerfully demonstrated the fixed will of the service personnel and people of the DPRK to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche started on Mt. Paektu, united close around the party.

Present at the closing ceremony were Yang Hyong Sop, Vice-Premier Kim Yong Jin, Pak Chun Nam, minister of Culture who is chairman of the festival organizing committee, officials concerned, the participants in the festival and other people in the city.

Special prizes went to the art groups of Changsong County and the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex, itinerant art squads of the Kim Jong Suk Pyongyang Textile Mill and the Tobacco Complex and the art squad of the Central Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League.

The group prize was awarded to 17 units, ensemble prize to 17 art pieces and 20 units, creation prize to 40 persons and prize for best acting to 40 persons.

A letter to Marshal Kim Jong Un was adopted at the ceremony.

Pak Chun Nam said in a closing address that the festival was a significant and meaningful one which powerfully demonstrated the fixed faith and will of the Korean people to win the final victory of the Songun revolution under the wise guidance of Kim Jong Un, deeply cherishing the great pride and self-esteem of holding the President and leader Kim Jong Il in high esteem.

Then a closing performance was given by the organizations which proved successful at the festival.
