The Saitama Prefectural People's Council for Japan-Korea Friendship and Solidarity said in a statement:

The government has persistently resorted to undisguised suppression of Chongryon.

The Japan-DPRK relations have not improved owing to the obstructions on the part of the government.

The government should roll back its hostile policy towards the DPRK and opt for settling the past crimes and realizing normalization of the bilateral ties on the basis of the Japan-DPRK Pyongyang Declaration.

The Saitama Society for Solidarity with Korean Women said:

The recent search was a challenge to the wishes of the Japanese and Korean peoples for the normalization of the bilateral ties.

We will not remain an onlooker to the government's acts of inciting enmity between Japan and the DPRK.

We strongly protest against the brutal action of the police authorities and extend solidarity to Chongryon and Koreans in Japan.

The Network Saitama for Providing Institutional Guarantee for Foreign Schools and National Schools urged the government to sincerely implement the Japan-DPRK Pyongyang Declaration and promote the normalization of ties between the two countries and stop at once the politically-motivated suppression of Chongryon.

The Gunma Prefectural People's Council for Japan-Korea Friendship and Solidarity bitterly denounced the government's despicable suppression of Chongryon and expressed full support for the struggle of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan for democratic national rights.
