The meeting discussed the issues of celebrating the 70th anniversaries of Korea's liberation and the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea on the international scale and conducting activities to support the just cause of the Korean people and youth during the June 25-July 27 month of anti-U.S. joint struggle.

The statement on the peace and reunification of the Korean peninsula was adopted at the meeting. It disclosed the reactionary and unfair nature of the hostile policy towards the DPRK and the dangerous nature of the war drills by the U.S. and south Korean belligerent forces.

The statement urged the U.S. to immediately withdraw its aggression forces and nuclear war means from south Korea to establish a stable mechanism for peace on the Korean peninsula, and unconditionally roll back the hostile policy towards the DPRK.

It demanded the south Korean authorities respond to the DPRK's sincere and principled proposal on discontinuing the reckless military drills in league with outside forces on the peninsula and bringing about a great change in the inter-Korean relations in this year marking the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

The World Federation of Democratic Youth is sure that the world progressive people and youth opposing war and imperialism and loving peace will join the Korean people in their struggle to smash the dangerous nuclear war racket of the U.S. and south Korean puppet group and achieve peace and reunification on the peninsula, it concluded.
