The Japanese Women's Society for Solidarity with the Korean Women vehemently denounced the police authorities' search of the houses of the chairman and a vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon.

The search is a product of the Japanese government's moves to tarnish the image of Chongryon and shift the responsibility for the bedeviling Japan-DPRK relations onto the DPRK, it said.

It urged the government to opt for normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and the DPRK.

The Tokyo-Pyongyang Rainbow Bridge said:

We hardly repress the resentment at the police authorities' violence which was committed at the time when the Japan-DPRK relations are not improved due to the government's unreasonable attitude.

The current search is fascist violence.

This proves that the government doesn't want the improvement of the Japan-DPRK relations.

We will intensify the struggle for normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and the DPRK.

The Kanagawa Prefectural People's Society for Promoting the Normalization of Japan-DPRK Diplomatic Relations noted:

The search aggravated the bilateral relations and offended international law.

It is a politically-motivated suppression and human rights abuse to incite the hostility towards Chongryon and the DPRK in Japanese society.

The government is trying to create an environment favorable for revival of militarism, trumpeting about "the theory of threat from the DPRK".
