It was the intention of the President to repulse the domination and intervention by foreign forces and reunify the country independently and peacefully by the concerted efforts of the Koreans.

He regarded it as the mainstay for reunification to achieve the great national unity from the very day the country was divided and wisely led the struggle to attain it.

The three principles of national reunification, the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo and the ten-point programme of the great unity of the whole nation, the most fair and aboveboard and realistic proposals for reunification, are associated with the patriotic soul and noble desire of the President for reunification.

It was the President who valued the national conscience and patriotism of all persons desirous of national reunification, regardless of their past, helped them glorify their spirit like gem and led them along the patriotic road for reunification.

A new history of the great national unity began and the movement for national reunification could dynamically advance thanks to the President, the sun, who led to the last those people in whom he reposed trust once.

The undying feats he performed by achieving the great national unity will shine for all ages together with the history of the movement for reunification.
