Mangyongdae Revolutionary Site Draws Many Visitors
Pyongyang, April 13 (KCNA) -- An endless stream of people is visiting Mangyongdae, the birthplace of President Kim Il Sung, with the approach of his birth anniversary (the Day of the Sun).

Preserved at his old home in Mangyongdae are historic relics in original state, such as faded wardrobe, farm tools, spinning wheel, straw cutter and malformed water jar.

In Mangyongdae there are also warship rock, wrestling site and rainbow-catching pine tree associated with the childhood of the President, triumphal return ferry, Sunhwa School and other historic sites.

Kim Il Sung was born on April 15, 1912 and his revolutionary family members had fought against the foreign invaders to achieve the country's independence and its people's freedom and emancipation.

He was given education in patriotism by his parents from his childhood and embarked on the road of the revolution at the age of 13.

Since then he had led the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle to victory, thus liberating Korea from Japan's colonial rule.
