The Japan-Korea Society for Scientific and Educational Interchange noted:

The police task force under the joint investigation headquarters involving policemen of Kyoto, Kanagawa, Yamaguchi and Shimane prefectures perpetrated such violence as searching the houses of the chairman and a vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee.

The violence is an unprecedented atrocious action that violated not only the constitution and criminal procedure code but international law.

Chongryon is a legitimate overseas citizens' organization of the DPRK that protects the democratic national rights of Koreans in Japan and plays the role of a diplomatic mission of the DPRK in Japan in the absence of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Suppression of Chongryon should never be tolerated.

We vehemently denounce the action taken against Chongryon and bitterly protest the government against the violence.

We urge the police authorities to make an immediate apology for it.

The National Association for the Promotion of Japan-Korea Diplomatic Relations noted:

We hardly repress our anger at the atrocious action taken by the police authorities.

The action is politically-motivated suppression of Chongryon and an act hostile to the DPRK.

The regime should honestly reflect on the case.
