Probe into Truth about Ferry Sewol Disaster Strongly Demanded in S. Korea

| Pyongyang, April 11 (KCNA) -- Representatives of the Consultative Council of Families of Victims for Probing Truth about April 16 Ferry Sewol Disaster and Building Safe Society, the All-People Measure Council for Sewol Disaster, the Citizens Solidarity for Democratic Society, the Bar Association for Democratic Society and other south Korean organizations held a press conference in Seoul on April 7 to demand the retraction of the hypocritical "enforcement ordinance" on ferry Sewol disaster. The special law on Sewol disaster was adopted for probing the truth about the disaster through actions of millions of people, but the present regime is blocking its enforcement by use of power, they noted. They declared they would stage strong protests such as hunger strike, publication of appeal, candle-light rally and all-people memorial service to seek probe into the truth about the disaster. Bereaved families and citizens held a meeting in Seoul on April 5 in demand of probe into the truth about the disaster. |
