The statement said:

The Japanese police authorities conducted an unreasonable search operation against the houses of the chairman and a vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee on March 26.

This was politically-motivated suppression of Chongryon by the reactionary ruling quarters.

Chongryon is an overseas citizens' organization of the DPRK active for defending the democratic national rights of Koreans in Japan.

We will never pardon the Japanese government's fascist action of trampling down the sovereignty of Chongryon, and resolutely protest against it.

The government is working hard to stretch the tentacles of aggression to the DPRK and other Asian countries while zealously joining the U.S. in its strategy for dominating the world in a bid to realize its ambition for reinvasion such as the exercise of the "right to collective self-defense," far from repenting of its past aggression against Korea and other Asian countries.

The politically-motivated suppression of Chongryon was prompted by the Japanese government's hostile policy towards the DPRK, an act quite contrary to the spirit of the Japan-DPRK Pyongyang Declaration.

We will support activities of Chongryon and struggle in solidarity with it for peace in Japan and Asia and the Japan-DPRK friendship.
