Overseas Koreans hardly repress the astonishment and towering resentment at the fascist violence by the Japanese authorities who hurled police and armored cars into searching the houses of the chairman and a vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) on March 26, the statement said.

Chongryon is a great pride and symbol of overseas Koreans and an organization representing and speaking for the rights and interests of Koreans in Japan, it said, strongly demanding in the name of justice and conscience of the world the Japanese authorities stop at once the illegal and unreasonable suppression and make a courteous apology.

It noted that Japan should clearly understand that thoroughgoing apology and reparation for its crime-woven history is the only way for it to get recognized by justice and conscience of the world.

It demanded the Abe regime stop the illegal and unreasonable suppression of Chongryon and halt at once politically-motivated violence and human rights abuses against Koreans in Japan.
