Rodong Sinmun Slams U.S., S. Korean Forces' Moves for Escalating Confrontation with DPRK
Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey flew into south Korea a few days ago and held a confab with Chairman of the south Korean puppet Joint Chiefs of Staff Choe Yun Hui over the issue of strengthening "combined defence posture" to cope with "threats" from the north. They told rubbish that south Korea-U.S. "alliance is the core of peace and stability in Northeast Asia," crying out for "effective operation of integrated missile defence network" to cope with "nuclear and missile threats" from the north.

The U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces started large-scale joint landing drill on March 30 as part of Foal Eagle in the area of Phohang, North Kyongsang Province.

Commenting on these developments, Rodong Sinmun Saturday says this clearly proves that the U.S. and the south Korean forces have gone reckless in their moves to mount a preemptive attack on the DPRK while tightening military collusion and nexus under the absurd pretext of "threat from the north".

Due to the U.S. and the south Korean forces' dangerous moves for a war against the north, the north-south relations have been pushed to an uncontrollable phase and the danger of the outbreak of a nuclear war has increased on the Korean peninsula, the commentary notes, and goes on:

With neither excuses nor rhetoric can the U.S. and the puppet forces cover up their bellicose nature of escalating tensions and bringing the dark clouds of a nuclear war to hang over the peninsula.

What matters is that the bellicose forces at home and abroad are inviting self-destruction while crying out for "combined defence posture" and "decisive action."

If the provokers fire even a single bullet or shell into the inviolable territory of the DPRK, its army and people will blow up the base of aggression and achieve the historic cause of national reunification.
