Deployment of THAAD Opposed in S. Korea
Pyongyang, April 3 (KCNA) -- Organizations in Pusan and South Kyongsang Province of south Korea condemned the ruling party for pushing ahead with the deployment of THAAD in south Korea.

The Pusan Headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration held a press conference outside the building of the Pusan branch of the ruling "Saenuri Party" on Mar. 31.

Recalling that the "Saenuri party" is going to hold a plenary meeting of lawmakers from the party on the deployment of THAAD, the speakers at the conference said such a debate needs to be canceled at once.

Deployment of THAAD will establish a new Cold War structure in Northeast Asia and, therefore, threaten peace on the Korean peninsula and waste the money collected from south Koreans as taxes, they deplored, adding:

Deployment of such offensive hardware disturbing peace on the peninsula and improvement of the south-north relations should not be forced on south Korea.

That day the South Kyongsang Provincial Progressive Federation launched a demo outside the building of the provincial branch of the "Saenuri Party".

The federation visited lawmakers to hand a protest letter to them.

The letter urged the ruling party to immediately stop the moves for THAAD deployment.

Earlier the Pusan People for Achieving Peace and Reunification paid protest calls at lawmakers from the ruling party in various places including Changwon and Kimhae of South Kyongsang Province on March 26 and 27 and conveyed written opinions calling for stop to the deployment of THAAD to them.
