Minju Joson Denounces Human Rights Abuses in U.S. and Western Countries
Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- A black man was recently found dead with his body hanging from a tree in Mississippi State, the U.S. There is a strong view that it is a crime committed out of racial prejudice as there are many instances showing the whites' cruel killing of black persons by hanging them to trees in the past in the southern part of the U.S.

This incident clearly shows the poor human rights performance in the U.S. where racial discrimination has reached its height even in the 21st century, says Minju Joson Wednesday in a commentary.

Though the U.S. vociferates about "equality for all," superiority and inferiority of people are distinguished by race and people live under the strict watch of the judicial authorities styling themselves as guardian of "freedom" and "democracy," the commentary says, adding that this is the human rights situation in the U.S.

Referring to the awful human rights records in the U.S. and other Western countries, the commentary goes on:

What is deplorable is that the U.S. and other Western countries with worse human rights abuses shamelessly behave as if they were "human rights judges."

Shelving their serious human rights abuses, the U.S. and other Western countries paint themselves as "models of human rights." They are taking issue with human rights performances of other countries.

They have neither justification nor qualifications to talk about human rights in other countries. Under the pretext of "human rights" they interfere in internal affairs of other countries and resort to aggression and war. This is the most serious human rights abuses which deserve the severest punishment.

If the international community loves justice, it should take issue with the human rights abuses in the U.S. and other Western countries.
