KCNA Commentary Slams European Countries' Plan to Sell Attack Helicopters to S. Korea
Pyongyang, March 31 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, the European munitions business Airbus Helicopters decided to sell hundreds of attack helicopters to the south Korean puppet forces.

This is an extremely dangerous action to egg the south Korean puppet forces on to the confrontation with the DPRK and escalate the danger of a new war on the Korean peninsula.

As already known, south Korea has turned into the world's largest nuclear outpost, a hotbed of a nuclear war, an exhibition ground and test site of new type weapons owing to the U.S.

Huge quantities of latest war hardware have been deployed in south Korea. Among them are U-2, Patriot 3, Longbow AH-64D copters, ATACMS Block 2 and ATACMS Block 1A, M1-A1 tanks, U-2 S Block 20, F-117 stealth fighter bombers.

The U.S. has stockpiled 600 000 tons of war supplies and stored 3 million of depleted uranium shells in such U.S. air force bases as those in Osan, Suwon and Chongju of south Korea in particular.

It decided to deploy THAAD in south Korea and is staging war drills under the simulated conditions of an actual war almost every day with the involvement of huge war hardware including littoral combat ship Fort Worth designed to suit the sea-bed conditions in the vicinity of the Korean peninsula.

It is none other than the peninsula into which latest weapons are being shipped, pursuant to the U.S. policy for aggression against the DPRK and its ambition to dominate the world. A nuclear war may break out any moment on the peninsula as the density of nuclear weapons deployment there has reached the highest in the world.

This being a hard reality, the European countries are mulling massively selling new-type attack helicopters to south Korea. This is a criminal act of inciting a war, pursuant to the U.S. policy of aggression against the DPRK.

It is no more than a suicidal act that the European countries are following the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK and war moves against it.

Some countries in Europe are being censured and ridiculed by the international community as marionettes of the White House for blindly following the U.S. scenario.

They have earned an ill-fame as "human rights abusers" for conspiring with the CIA in tortures against prisoners and joining in the conspiratorial human rights racket of the U.S. administration.

They are finding themselves in the most serious dilemma since the end of the Cold War, hit hard by the financial and economic crises and debt crisis in the U.S. while taking advantage of its bubble economy. They are still suffering from their aftereffects. The number of the poor has gone beyond 100 million among the member countries of the EU in 2014.

Since the crisis took place in Ukraine, they joined in the sanctions against Russia, suffering huge economic losses.

What the EU member countries got by toeing the U.S. wrong policy is their tarnished image in the international arena. The whole of Europe has been plunged into the crucible of confusion and confrontation and the EU is divided and euro region is in the danger of collapse.

They vociferated about the "peace preservation" and claimed as if they had made a great contribution to peace and stability of the world and behaved themselves as if they would not pardon any slight acts of wrecking peace. But they are now zealously following the U.S. policy for aggression.

With their hypocritical nature laid bare, their true colors as criminals disturbing global peace and stability have been fully disclosed in the eyes of the world.

With no rhetoric can European countries justify their wrong actions to escalate the tension on the Korean peninsula while currying favor and following such war maniac and war criminal state as the U.S.

The peace and stability on the peninsula and the world can never be achieved by talking alone.

European countries should make a contribution to peace through such practical actions as canceling the projected sale of attack helicopters to south Korea.
