Kirunda Kivejinja, senior adviser to the president of Uganda, was elected adviser to the preparatory committee and Henri Masico, department director of the Presidency of Uganda, its chairman.

The committee decided to organize political and cultural events including a meeting, seminar and photo exhibition to praise the immortal exploits of the President on the occasion of the Day of the Sun.
