19th Seminar of World Political Parties on Building New Society Held
Pyongyang, March 23 (KCNA) -- The 19th seminar of political parties of the world on building a new society was held in Mexico from Mar. 12 to 14.

Present there were delegations and representatives of more than 100 political parties and organizations from over 40 countries including the DPRK, members of the leadership of the Workers' Party of Mexico and representatives of its affiliated organizations.

Leaders of various political parties and lawmakers of Mexico and diplomatic envoys were also present there on invitation.

Introduced there were messages of greetings from the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and political parties of different countries.

Alberto Anaya Gutierrez, national leader of the Workers' Party of Mexico, in his opening speech said that the seminar has been an annual event from 1997 under the co-sponsorship of the Worker's Party of Mexico and the WPK and it is developing into a great gathering of the world progressive political parties.

Representative of various political parties took the floor.

They denounced the imperialists' political, economic and military offensive and attempt of subversion against those countries aspiring after independence, estimated the activities of progressive political parties and organizations for building state and people's government and referred to the tasks and ways to do so.

They expressed solidarity with the struggle of the ruling parties and peoples including Cuba and Venezuela and adopted resolutions calling for checking outside forces' interference in the internal affairs of some countries.

An appeal was adopted calling upon the communist parties, workers' parties and progressive political parties and people of the world to celebrate with splendor the 70th anniversaries of Korea's liberation and the Workers' Party of Korea as the grand political festivals of an international scale.
