Intangible Heritage Registration Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, March 19 (KCNA) -- The DPRK has paid deep attention to putting the nation's intangible heritages on the list of world's cultural heritages.

In this regard, Ro Chol Su, deputy director of the National Authority for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, told KCNA, noting that the Korean folk song "Arirang" was registered as one of the world's cultural heritages last year:

Intangible heritages include folk literature, social customs, folk games, handcraft technique and national cuisines.

True to the noble intention of supreme leader Kim Jong Un, the examination for registering different intangible national heritages of high value in cultural history is now going on in the country.

Scores of kinds of intangible heritages, believed to belong to the city of Pyongyang, have been brought to examination for this year.

Efforts are paid to creating database on the nation's intangible heritages.

Typical of Korea's many intangible heritages are the methods of making Kimchi (pickled vegetables) and national costume, the customs of enjoying the Harvest Moon Day and Ssirum (Korean wrestling).
