The Workers' Party of Korea's idea on improving the people's living standard with the above-said thrusts is a scientific and revolutionary one, the editorial says, and goes on:

It is the WPK's intention to make hurrah for the WPK and socialism heard from the dinner table of every family.

The U.S. imperialists and other hostile forces are working hard to put political and military pressure on the DPRK and apply economic sanctions and blockade against it. Their ulterior purpose is to shake people's faith in socialism and bring down the social system in the DPRK at any cost by causing acute shortage of food and destitution.

The DPRK has solid material and technological foundations for improving the people's living standard laid by leader Kim Jong Il while making high-intensity forced march till the last moments of his life. It has also a wealth of experience gained in increasing grain production by its own efforts under difficult situation and unfavorable conditions. Last year the fishery field of the Korean People's Army proved in practice that fishes are abundant in the seas of Korea and a radical turn can be made in fishing.

The editorial calls on all officials and working people in the fields of agriculture, animal husbandry and fishing to turn out as one in the drive to carry out the tasks set forth by the WPK.
