In the appeal the committee decided to intensify international solidarity movement during the June-October, 2015 "solidarity period for supporting the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea" that was set in December last year on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the 35th anniversary of the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo.

The appeal underscored the need to intensify the international movement for supporting the most reasonable and just proposals for realizing the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea and extend solidarity to the Korean people in their struggle to defuse the danger of war, ease tension and create a peaceful environment on the Korean peninsula.

It also stressed the need to conduct mass campaign demanding a stop to the annual large-scale joint military exercises staged by the U.S. and the south Korean authorities, create an atmosphere of rejecting all sanctions and "human rights" racket violating the sovereignty of the DPRK and conduct a solicitation movement to let the UN and governments of all countries demand the improvement of the DPRK-U.S. relations.

It also underlined the need to conduct the activities demanding the implementation of the north-south joint declarations by various forms and methods, organize the movement for supporting the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea and turn it into the worldwide movement involving broad masses.

It called for forming more committees for supporting the reunification of Korea in different parts of the world and expanding those organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people in different countries into more powerful and influential bodies.

It voiced the conviction that the world progressive people would extend full support and solidarity to the cause for Korea's reunification for the sake of the building of a free and prosperous, new world and the eternal happiness of humankind.
