Ri Jong Sop, representative of Jaju Ilbo, noted that the paper would strive to reunify the divided country, oppose war maneuvers and confrontation with fellow countrymen and achieve national reconciliation and cooperation.

He expressed the will to make every effort to achieve peaceful reunification by implementing the July 4 joint statement, three principles of national reunification, June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration being supported by not only Koreans in the north, the south and abroad but other peoples in the world.

He said the paper would fulfill media's mission and responsibility for factual and truthful report.
