Rodong Sinmun Calls for Living and Struggling in Revolutionary Spirit of Paektu
Pyongyang, March 10 (KCNA) -- The revolutionary spirit of Paektu, the spirit of the blizzards of Paektu, represents a powerful engine for the Korean revolution and basic sources of invincible might, says Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in an editorial.

It goes on:

"Let us accomplish the Korean revolution in the revolutionary spirit of Paektu, the spirit of the blizzards of Paektu!" - this is the militant slogan put up by the Workers' Party of Korea and a signpost of victory.

This spirit is, in essence, a staunch spirit of attack, the spirit of weathering obstacles and difficulties and an indomitable fighting spirit of rising up no matter how often one may fall and fighting it out.

The anti-Japanese forerunners, the first generation of the Korean revolution, were the strongest in faith and will.

They had unshakable revolutionary faith that the country would be sure to be liberated if the nation followed President Kim Il Sung and it was a single-minded unity based on loyalty to him to share the destiny with him in the course of revolution, rain or shine.

They neither knew pessimism in hunger and cold nor wavered in their faith despite severe ordeals in 1941, but fought bravely even on scaffolds as they maintained blood ties with the leader.

This year is a significant year marking the 70th anniversary of national liberation which the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners achieved through their two decades-long bloody struggle under the leadership of the President.

This revolutionary spirit will greatly encourage the servicepersons and people of the DPRK in their patriotic drive for dashing ahead like the wind towards the grand festival of honor in all fields for defending socialism and building a thriving nation full of conviction of sure victory.
