French Organization Supports DPRK
Pyongyang, March 10 (KCNA) -- The France-Korea Friendship Association sent a letter to the chairman of the UN Human Rights Council on March 1 as regards the fact that the "human rights issue" of the DPRK will be put for discussion at the 28th Session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.

The letter said that the France-Korea Friendship Association desirous of peace and reunification of Korea hopes that the UN Human Rights Council would seriously approach the discussion of the human rights of Korea.

It went on:

We are strongly skeptical about the results of the UN Commission of Inquiry on the DPRK.

We recognize that the work of the Commission of Inquiry is unfair and incongruous with the international standard.

The commission made "investigations" outside the relevant country irrespective of the will of that country and hastily made public its "will" conflicting with reality.

This is aimed to "incriminate" the DPRK which is always ready for negotiations for discussing such agenda items as respect for independence, basic human rights and fundamental issue of international law.

We cannot but deplore the "results of investigation" on the situation of human rights in the DPRK which even several international and NGO bodies deny.

Different "key evidence" published by the Commission of Inquiry was cooked up based on false stories made by "defectors from north Korea" and the contents are full of inconsistency.

The foolish moves to place the DPRK in the dock at the International Criminal Court will not succeed but bring serious denunciation that the UN Human Rights Council turned into a political tool serving some countries.

The "report" of the Commission of Inquiry is only escalating the tension of the Korean peninsula, far from bringing peace and reunification of Korea.

We hope that the human rights issue will be fairly settled.
