At an inaugural ceremony, Aung Thein Lynn, member of the Central Executive Committee of the Union Solidarity and Development Party of Myanmar, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to hold various political and cultural events including a meeting, friendship meeting, film show and photo exhibition on the occasion of the Day of the Sun (his birth anniversary).
