DPRK Wins Top Prize at Figueras International Circus Festival
Pyongyang, March 6 (KCNA) -- The 4th Figueras International Circus Festival was held in Spain from February 26 to March 2. The festival brought together famous circuses and acrobats from 16 countries including the DPRK, Russia, Mongolia, Brazil, China, Spain, Ethiopia and Cuba.

Gold Elephant prize, the top prize of the festival, went to "Aerial Trapeze," physical acrobatics staged by acrobats of the DPRK, at an awarding ceremony held on March 2. This number won first prizes at various international circus festivals. This time, too, they successfully presented movements requiring high technique, winning the admiration of jury members and spectators.

The chairman of the festival organizing committee said:

I sincerely congratulate the DPRK's acrobats on taking the first place and winning the top prize of the festival.

"Aerial Trapeze" took part in our festival for the first time and it stole the spotlight in it.

Watching "Aerial Trapeze," Spanish people got a fresh understanding of the eye-catching reality of the DPRK.

The head of the Russian circus said the DPRK's "Aerial Trapeze" retains the world title.

The fresh and courageous "Aerial Trapeze" is a model of acrobatics as it gives delight and optimism to people, he said, adding:

Warm congratulations to the DPRK acrobats.

The mayor of Figueras City said:

I am honored to award the top prize of the festival to the world famous aerial trapeze of the DPRK.

Citizens of Figueras City were fully attracted by the aerial trapeze of the DPRK.

I hope the DPRK circus will continue to take part in the Figueras International Circus Festival in the future, too.
