Measures for Excavating and Preserving Remains of Victims during Korean War Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, March 5 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Taejon Sannae joint measure committee for excavation of remains of civilians killed during Korean war held a briefing in Tonggu, Taejon on March 1 on the unearthing of remains of civilians who were massacred by the U.S. imperialist aggression troops and the puppet army and police early in the war, according to the south Korean internet newspaper Thongil News.

The organization began unearthing remains of prisoners of the Taejon Prison who met grievous deaths in the early period of the war in Kolryong valley, Taejon City from Feb. 23 and found 15-20 remains in a week.

American bullets and cartridges were also found in the place where the remains were unearthed, the organization added.

It urged the need to conduct additional excavation.

It said it would take measures to excavate and preserve remains.
