AI Discloses Human Rights Abuses in S. Korea
Pyongyang, March 3 (KCNA) -- The south Korean branch of Amnesty International held a press conference in Seoul on Feb. 25 at which it issued a report on the human rights abuses in south Korea, according to Yonhap News of south Korea.

The report said that south Korea's overall human rights performance made a retreat for the past two years under the Park Geun Hye regime.

It noted that Ri Sok Gi, ex-lawmaker from the former Unified Progressive Party, and several others were put in custody on charges of violation of the "Security Law" and the party was forcibly disbanded by an unreasonable decision made by the "Constitutional Court", a proof of the invocation of the fascist law at will.

The present regime is threatening and detaining progressive forces by invoking the SL, it charged, deploring the serious violation of freedom of expression, assembly and demonstration in south Korea.

The report referred to the facts that activities of trade unions are suppressed in south Korea, human rights of immigrant workers are abused under serious working conditions little short of forced labour and human rights situation remains serious within the puppet army as its soldiers are meeting death due to harsh acts.
